Marianne KayCEO / Co-Founder
As CEO and Co-Founder of the Company, Marianne Kay spearheads brand strategy, product development/production and marketing. She was inspired to create Cleatskins after experiencing significant wear and tear in her home and car from the cleated shoes of her active children. Her husband, tired of replacing worn out cleats, was also driven to find a way to extend the life of athletic footwear. Together, this dynamic team experimented with store bought sandals and rubber shower caps at their kitchen table. With prototype in-hand, knowing they had come up with something special, the two enlisted footwear experts to refine and perfect their innovation.
Ms. Kay began her retail experience working as a Special Projects Coordinator in the fashion industry. From there she moved into Advertising/Public Relations. This experience has been applied to the Cleatskins products through strategic public relations branding efforts. Ms. Kay studied Business Administration at the University of San Diego. She shares a love for sports as both participant and fan.
