Three essential items to bring to sports camps

Now that most schools are out of session for the year, it's time for young athletes to rest for a little while before they start to get back in gear and prepare for next season. When athletes want to give themselves an edge over their competition during their time off from school and sports during the summer months, they oftentimes sign up for overnight sports camps and clinics.

Since they'll only have a bunk or small room to live out of, the athletes who attend these camps won't want to bring more than they need, but there are a number of things that will make the experience a bit easier and more valuable.

One of the most important things that someone can bring along to a sports clinic is a notebook or two. Especially at longer camps, there is so much information thrown at the attendees throughout the course of the week that much of it gets lost by the time they return home and start practicing on their own. By writing down a few of the things they learned each day, they'll be able to hold on to some of the tips and pointers they learned.

A lot of campers may want to bring bottled sports drinks with them so they can have something to drink other than water all the time. Rather than carrying a large case of these drinks, it's a much better idea to pack a can of a powdered version of the drink.

After long practices at camp, athletes need to take off their cleats if they don't want to damage the spikes. But, they don't need to worry about that if they brought along a part of cleat covers that allow them to walk on any surface comfortably without ruining their shoes.

If anyone is looking for gift ideas for athletes, they could put together these items in a care package with some other things, such as travel-sized toiletries and muscle cream.

Whether biking or golfing, playing baseball or football, athletes rely on special footwear that allows them to perform at the top of their game. In order to keep their shoes and spikes in perfect shape, athletes everywhere use Cleatskins cleat covers and shoe accessories. They are the ultimate shoe protection product and make great gifts for athletes.
